From the moment I sat down for my interview with Jurys Inn was their dedication to their people. I started with no prior experience in hotels. Jurys Inn has helped me develop my Skillset and get to where I am today. The Learning and Development team helped me tailor the Insights Trainee Manager Programme to my individual requirements, I have developed so much from the nervous young man I was at interview, to my current role as Sales Executive. I can't thank Jurys Inn enough.

My journey with Jurys Inn when I was appointed to my very first Deputy General Manager. The fear of being seen as the outsider was very much in mind – however I have to say I have never felt more at home and belonging to a company. Since joining along with the day job have been travelling flying around the UK as part of the “High potential programme” studying, learning and assisting with new openings and hotel rebrand projects. The aim, to be ready for my first GM role – no pressure!

What struck me from the moment I started with Jurys Inn was the investment in developing their employees from day one. After a year with the company I was promoted to Front Office Manager where I was able to enhance my experience and start training towards my next role. I was promoted to Deputy General Manager, this was a huge change, but the support from our GROW online learning platform enabled me to thrive in this role.

I joined the company having completed my degree in Hospitality Business Management. The Jurys Inn Graduate programme was a fantastic start to my management career. I developed to the position of Food and Beverage Manager and later to Operations Manager. I think my journey with the company shows just how much they appreciate people looking to develop, it’s a fantastic and rewarding company to work for.

If someone was to tell me then that within 5 years I would be a Deputy General Manager I would have said they were mad! I have had 5 different roles in 5 different cities and I can honestly say that I have loved each one. What really works well in Jurys is the way there is a culture for spotting talent and developing it. I have seen so many of my peers race up the career ladder within Jurys Inn. It’s a really great team that really care about the guest and more importantly each other

I started my career with Jurys Inn as Reception Supervisor. Since then I have taken on various different roles to my current role of Operations Manager. Jurys Inns offer various styles of training including, GROWonline our learning platform and face to face training sessions with experts in the industry. I am currently on the Accelerate development programme which will equip me with further skills to take the next step in my career. With my drive and the company’s commitment I will continue to reach my goals

I have never worked for a company where their values are lived and breathed among the team. With little hospitality experience values I had such as positivity and willingness were identified by my manager and I quickly progressed onto the ‘Insights Programme’. This involved 9 months of supported structured learning, shadowing experienced colleagues and exciting face to face courses. This enabled me to secure my first management position as M&E Sales Manager within 15 Months.I feel this is only the beginning of the road for me!
